DocuDue

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about tracking document expirations with DocuDue. Can't find an answer? Contact us.

What kinds of documents can I track?

Anything with an expiration or renewal date: business licenses, insurance policies, certifications, permits, leases, vehicle registrations, contracts, and personal documents like passports or pet vaccination records. Each document stores a name, category, expiration date, and any notes you want to keep with it.

How do expiration reminders work?

You choose how far in advance you want to be notified, and DocuDue emails you reminders on that schedule before each document expires. Your dashboard also shows every document's status at a glance — current, due soon, or overdue — so nothing slips through.

Do I need to upload the actual document?

No. Tracking works with just a document name and expiration date. You can also attach the file itself, and smart date extraction can read the expiration date from an uploaded document so you don't have to type it — both are included on every plan.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The Free plan tracks up to 5 documents with email reminders included, and it doesn't require a credit card. You can upgrade later if you need room for more documents.

Can I use DocuDue for a small business?

Yes — small businesses are exactly who DocuDue is built for. Contractors, landlords, pet-service businesses, small offices, freelancers, and local service businesses use it to keep licenses, insurance, permits, and certifications current. The Small Business plan tracks up to 250 documents, and Business Plus goes up to 1,000.

Can I track personal documents?

Absolutely. Many people track passports, driver's licenses, vehicle registrations, home and auto insurance, and pet vaccination records alongside — or instead of — business documents. The Free and Starter plans are a good fit for household use.

Is my payment information stored by DocuDue?

No. All payments are processed by Stripe, and your card details never touch DocuDue's servers. You can view invoices and update your payment method at any time through the secure Stripe billing portal.

Can I cancel or change plans?

Yes, at any time. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from your billing settings, which open the Stripe billing portal. If you cancel a paid plan you keep access for the period you've already paid for, and your account moves to the Free plan afterward.
